Whether you’re deepening your faith, leading a study group, or just enjoy learning as you play, this puzzle turns solving into a mini guide to the book of Genesis.

➛ Creation

The act of God making the heavens, the earth, and everything in them, as told in the first chapters of Genesis. The Bible describes it as taking place over six days, with a day of rest on the seventh.

➛ Eden

The garden where God placed the first man and woman. It was a perfect, peaceful home with rivers, trees, and fruit until Adam and Eve were sent out of it.

➛ Adam

The first man, created by God from the dust of the ground. He lived in the Garden of Eden and was given the job of caring for it.

➛ Eve

The first woman, created by God as Adam’s partner. Her name means “life” or “living,” and she is called the mother of all the living.

➛ Serpent

The creature in the Garden of Eden that tempted Eve to eat the fruit God had forbidden. It is often seen as a symbol of temptation and evil.

➛ Noah

A righteous man who obeyed God and built a large boat to save his family and the animals from a great flood. He is one of the most well-known figures in Genesis.

➛ Ark

The huge wooden boat Noah built to survive the flood. It carried his family and pairs of every kind of animal.

➛ Rainbow

The sign God placed in the sky after the flood as a promise never to destroy the earth with water again. It is a symbol of hope and God’s faithfulness.

➛ Babel

A city where people tried to build a tower reaching the heavens. God confused their language and scattered them across the earth, which is why people speak different languages.

➛ Abraham

A man of great faith whom God called to leave his home and travel to a new land. He is known as the father of many nations and is honored in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

➛ Covenant

A sacred promise or agreement between God and his people. In Genesis, God made covenants with Noah, Abraham, and others.

➛ Isaac

The son of Abraham and Sarah, born when they were very old, as God had promised. He was the father of Jacob and Esau.

➛ Jacob

The son of Isaac who was later renamed Israel. His twelve sons became the ancestors of the twelve tribes of Israel.

➛ Joseph

Jacob’s favorite son, sold into slavery by his brothers and taken to Egypt. He rose to become a powerful leader there and saved his family from famine.

➛ Egypt

The ancient land in northern Africa where Joseph rose to power and where Jacob’s family later settled. It is a key setting in the books of Genesis and Exodus.
